"I've learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered.” -

Saying the darndest things!
Life is going very well at the moment! I haven't blogged in a while though so I thought I'd start a blog that lists the things Wyatt says that crack me up. It seems like everyday something new pops out of him and makes me wonder where he came up with it. (of course some things I KNOW the origin of. . )
Like "Oh Man!" which is from Grami
and "Shoot" which is from Papaw
Today after Greg told him "No." his reply was, "Don't talk to me like that Daddy." Which proceeded to crack me up for at least 10 minutes as it was an exact impression of me.
Yep my 2 year old has shown up and the terrible twos have ensued.
Last night as he was going to bed he cried "But I don't like going night-night!!!" Which I thought was a very well put together sentence, especially considering the duress he was under.
One day while shopping for muffins he said, "Momma! Let's get out of here, this place is crazy!!" I have no idea where that one came from.
I swear there are about 100 more that my poor brain can't recall. So I'm sure I'll be back to post some more. Such a fun age!

Normal!
Life has settled back into a normal routine. Well some-what normal routine. Wyatt and I have been out and about enjoying the area and have had some adventures we wanted to share!!
Thursday of last week Wyatt and I decided to head out and find adventure!! We decided to visit Cabelas for the first time. A lot of Moms had recommend that we visit and I can certainly see why!! There were stuffed critters everywhere!! They were set up in dioramas all over the place! Some of which were two stories high!! Wyatt kept pointing and staring every which way his eyes turned. There was a plane on the ceiling and muskox and polar bears, and moose, etc. . . . We spent two hours looking at critters. We also ate lunch at their little deli. It was very yummy and I enjoyed my lunch date. Then to wrap things up we sampled fudge! Lots and Lots of fudge!! Yummy!! I can certainly see that Cabelas might be a fun trip once a month! Can't beat free. . .
Friday we went to visit Aunt Liz at Papaw and Grami's house and were pleasantly surprised to find Aunt Susie, Tanya and Cole visiting as well. Cole and Wyatt didn't play too much together but it sure was fun watching them.
That evening Dad, Grami, Wyatt and I went to the Corn Maze and pumpkin patch. Wyatt really enjoyed it! He loves pumpkins and ran around looking at them all. He walked through the entire maze holding Daddy's hand and a flashlight. It was very cute. This was Wyatt's 3rd time at the pumpkin patch and corn maze. It is a neat tradition that I hope we continue for years to come. In fact I think we will go back another time this year because Wyatt enjoyed it so much.
October, 2005
The rest of the day we shopped and Wyatt got some good fall clothes! Then of course he rode the carousel at Grapevine Mills Mall. It's amazing to me that as soon as he drives up to that mall he yells "Horsey!!" and knows that the carousel is in there somewhere. It's not like we go to the mall very often but I guess that is just burned into his memory.
That night we went to Wyatt's first wedding. It was lovely and he behaved great. We didn't stay long because it was an outdoor event and the mosquitoes were starting to feast on my legs as usual.
Sunday Cole and his Mommy an Daddy came over to Grami and Papaw's again. Wyatt informed Grami that morning that he wanted to go to Colin's house instead but by the time Cole got there he was happy again to be at Grami's. Cole and Wyatt played great together. I guess Friday was the introduction period. I think Wyatt really wants some friends. He just followed Cole around and did everything he did. He had a great time.
This week promises to be busy as well. Today we have to run a ton of errands, tomorrow the lawn mower repairman is coming so we have to stay home. Then Wednesday the floor repair guy is coming, so another day stuck at home. But Friday we are going to the zoo one way or another!! There is a cold front coming through tonight and then another on Thursday so maybe it will actually feel like fall by Friday!!! I'm ready for cool weather!!!
Wyatt has learned to count to 8 although he usually says six twice instead of seven but I think it's quite an accomplishment considering no one has worked with him on it. It's pretty cute hearing him count things. And he is really good at identifying "two" and "three" of things. He hands me cars and can say "two cars" or "three cars" depending on how many he has in his hands. Pretty smart.
Lately we have been watching "Wyatt movies" which are home videos. Wyatt watches one from when he was not even a year old over and over and over again. He loves it. I can see why, he can see Grami and Papaw and Mommy and Daddy on TV. Not to mentions that "cute" Wyatt.
Well I'm off to watch Wyatt's first birthday. It sure beats Handy Manny!

Getting sneaky!
Wyatt is growing by leaps and bounds. He amazes me everyday by what he has learned. He knows all the basic colors and can pick them out of a big bunch quickly. He can sort of count to 3 on his own. His vocabulary is getting so big I don't even recognize when he learns a new word anymore. But today I thought I'd share something that really cracks me up!!
He is getting so sneaky!!!!!!
Nap time and Bedtime have really become a hassle because he is starting to come up with plans on how to stall the inevitable. Most of the time it is just "Water!" hollered out a few moments after you've shut the door. That one I can deal with! And on a very fast side note today he called me back in there and handed me two water sippies and said "Two waters", which I thought was very astute of him. Usually he just says "More waters" when there are more than one of something.
Anyways, back on topic. Today he went to nap very easily and seemed to be resigned to the fact that he had to take a nap. I was completely suckered in. An hour went by and while I was cooking some cookies for an after nap treat I heard the sound of two toys clicking together. I knew then that he was out of bed. I walked towards his door and as the floor creeked under me I heard little bitty footfalls running in his room and then the bed creek and as I opened the door I just barely caught him smoothing out his bed covers and trying to act like he was never up.
It was all I could do not to bust out laughing. I remember doing stuff like that to my Mother so I know exactly what his little mind was thinking! Poor little guy still had to take a nap but Mommy was so amused that she told him he could have a cookie when he wakes up. He didn't get back up out of bed again but I'm pretty sure that wasn't the last time.
I had to take a picture of the toys that alerted me to his naughtiness. I'm not sure how he figured I wouldn't notice them under the door. I guess maybe he hasn't reached that developmental milestone yet. . . and heaven help me when he does!

A trip to the museum!
Just one more week until Daddy goes back to work so we are taking full advantage of our time with him!!!
We have been planning on going to the Omni with Wyatt for a long time and finally this past Monday we actually went!!
I thought I’d do a picture report of our day so all the people who couldn’t come could see!!
We started out and the first think Wyatt saw was a big ol’ Dinosaur!!!!!! Of course he thought that was really “Cool”.
Next we bought our tickets and stood in line very patiently to see the first showing of Dolphins. Wyatt loved being loose and stayed with us the entire time.
This is the best picture I could get without a tripod in the dark. Cameras weren’t really allowed in the theater. For those of you who have never been to the Omni it is a dome Imax that makes you feel like you are moving while you watch the film. It’s really neat!
Best shot of the lower level and a tiny fraction of the screen.
Wyatt had his first drink from a water fountain after the movie and he thought it was “Cool” too.
I had to get a shot of the purple walls as we left the theater because they remind me of my Granddaddy. He always took me to the Omni when I was little and I always got so excited when I saw those purple walls!
The Star Wars Exhibit is a traveling exhibit, which is about to leave our town so we were lucky to get to see it!! It had a lot of neat stuff used in the movies and some of the science that has been inspired by them.
Daddy pushed Wyatt way up close to this scary creature. (not sure why) and I was worried that he might be afraid of it but Wyatt just busted out with “SNOW PUPPY!!!” So cute I tell ya!
Ewan McGregor wore that outfit on the right!!! Drool . . .
Wyatt is already half the height of Harrison Ford!!
We finished up the Star Wars exhibit and went to find something fun for Wyatt to do. The penny vortex has been at the museum since I was a little girl.
We got to touch Mammoth tusks
And play with big bubble tubes!
And Daddy and Wyatt are making the same exact fake smile here in front of the dinosaur bones.
The museum has a really great area in the basement that is for kids 1 – 6. It had trains to drive and cars at the atm, phones to call on, a grocery store and a neat water play area with a pretend boat. I could tell a lot of Moms had passes to the museum just so their kids could meet and play while Mom sat on a bench and chatted with other Moms. Nice!
Wyatt kept handing everyone this “Star Fish”. I guess he is learning his shapes after all!
We also went to the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame but decided that we would come back without Wyatt sometime.
On the way back to our car Wyatt spotted this “Daddy Turtle” that he just had to go check out. He gave it a hugged and then pointed to it so that we wouldn’t miss it.
I was really glad we got to go the museum because it is shutting down September 3rd for a long overdue overhaul and who knows what it will look like when it reopens. Bets are it won’t be anything like what I know and remember from my childhood. I missed my Granddaddy a lot during our trip but I’m glad I got to go see it one more time!

We've got pumpkins!
I’m a fall nut. A Really big fall nut!! Like I start dreaming of fall decorations in springtime. And today my land has made my year!! Greg insisted we had a pumpkin patch growing in our woods and I kept telling him he was wrong that it was just wild gourds. . . well he took pictures and proved me wrong!!!
WE HAVE A PUMPKIN PATCH!!!!!!
I wracked my brain as to where they could have come from and remembered that last year I threw out our old pumpkin into the woods!! YAY!!!
I haven’t been this excited about anything in a long time!! I’m such a dork!! Anyways, I just sent Greg out to cut one of the pumpkins for us to look at and I took some pictures of my boys with it! Wyatt is so excited. He doesn't even know why we are excited but he keeps running around going "Pumpkins!".
Here are some pics of our pumpkins and my boys!

Two Years Down, A Lifetime To Go.
My goodness time flies! I can't believe my baby's second birthday is in two days. It seems like just yesterday that I was floating in the pool trying to stay cool while being as big as a house. I remember thinking that life would never be the same again and I was right. Wyatt has certainly changed everything around! Everything seems more colorful because of him. Sad things are sadder, Happy things are Happier. I know that doesn't make sense but I can't quite figure out how to put it into words.
Today I thought I'd post some comparison pictures of my baby when he was just born and then some of him recently. It's amazing to me the difference. And even though it seems like a life time has passed really it hasn't been that long at all.

Happy Birthday my baby!!
